Relational Psychoanalytic Technique

It is an integrative approach to therapy. Relational psychotherapy explores client relationship patterns both inside and outside of the therapy room itself. The task of therapy is to work collaboratively to understand what is going on between the therapist and the client and to look for the relational meaning in everything that arises in therapy from responses to interventions to client-therapist interaction.
The therapist provides an atmosphere of empathy and attentiveness which allows both client and therapist to forge a strong uplifting and secure relationship that serves as a model for future relationships, the client will strive to develop. It is important to emphasise that much of the learning takes place at a bodily felt, emotional level.
By facilitating a safe and positive relationship in the therapeutic environment the client is armed with a stronger sense of self confidence.
